Richly Rewarding - there's no place like the Pathdorf b&b, an Australian paradise created by a German. Uwe's the best and friendliest host/cook/tour guide/creator of a home in pure nature: beautiful garden full of native birds. He made his dream come true and shares it with the rest of the world. Try Uwe's delicious home made cakes and fresh fruit from the garden. Thank you so much for the wonderful time in Alice Springs, Uwe. We'll be back!

Nothing to complain about. Yes, it's a 5 minutes drive to downtown but absolutely worth the 'escape'.

Uve is a knowledgeable and obliging host. His skills as a host are great but I think his skills as a pastrycook are really great. I hope to return.

Uwe's warm welcome was overwhelming! He is a really good host with a profound knowledge of nature and especially birdlife. He did a great job with the garden. Must be an even more exiting place in summer. One day we will come again!!!

I was looked after and made to feel special. I loved the nature and garden and birds and peace and quiet. Was given lots of info on where to go and what to do, brilliant. Loved my stay.

The Bed & Breakfast Pathdorf is by far the BEST place my husband and I have ever stayed in Australia. Upon arrival you are greeted by your host (who is the friendliest, most helpful person you will ever meet, and a former tour guide to boot), who gives you the grand tour of the most wonderful privately owned nature preserve; a birdwatchers paradise. In the morning a generous breakfast is laid out for you and then your host asks you want you want to do. Before you have finished breakfast, he has outlined the perfect day’s itinerary. Facilitates are spotless! Highly recommend! Easily 10 out of 10!

The owner was very friendly, and extremely helpful regarding advice about our travels. The single room accomadation was cosy, cheap and adequate, but the balcony suite, and the garden cottage, which we booked for our second night, were both wonderful in terms of relaxation and ambience...we just wished we had longer to stay there, and found it hard to leave. The owner has turned his property into a paradise which encourages many different species of birds, and he is justly proud of his achievement. It is a wonderful place to stay.

It's a perfect combination of a personal, clean and comfortable accommodation located not far away from the town and yet bedded in beautiful nature. Uwe Path is a great host who warmly welcomed us, explained all details of the house, the lush garden which he planted himself and the different birds that can be watched from close by...a real birdwatcher's paradise ! The pool and the home-made cake German style (yam-yam...) made us feel home. Since Uwe was working as tour guide in the Red Center for 7 years, he provided us with a lot of extremely useful tips for the upcoming hikes and tours we planned to do - thanks again, Uwe !

What did I like about Pathdorf - Everything! - Uwe the owner has created this idyllic place over a 4 year period. It is amazing, It does what it says on the label... And more. I could have stayed for much much longer. An oasis in the desert I have travelled the world for pleasure and business and this beats them hands down. A superb place to relax and enjoy the plants and birds which are nutured by its owner.

    Fabulous

We stayed in this B&B for two nights and we were satisfied with it. Our apartment was tidy, spacious and the bed was confortable. The B&B has a nice garden with several beautiful birds. The place is solar powered. The breakfast had moderate choices but was good. The owner, Uwe, was very friendly and enthusiastic, he gave us some excellent travel advises. His hints were greatly appreciated. If we go to Alice again, we may go back to this B&B and we definitely recommend it to other travellers, as well.

This B&B is quite far away (approximately 5km) from the centre of Alice, so you should have a car if you decide to stay there. There was no housekeeping for the second day, namely, the bed was not made, we did not get new towels, etc. We did not find this a serious issue, but you should keep that in mind if you stay for a longer time. The WiFi connection was a bit pricey, no air conditioning.

A great place to stay for people interested in plants and bird life. Uwe had very helpful suggestions for a day trip through the West McDonnell Ranges that was an excellent experience. The Cottage was roomy and well set up.

This eco b&b was a little paradise and it brings a lot to Australia landscape and its birds (really friendly we have to say). Owe, the owner, was really kind to us and he took time to discuss with us and inform us about the good places around. The room is really spacious and well equipped. It is definitely the place we recommend to stay in Alice Springs.
